HUNDREDS OF COMPANIES AND THOUSANDS OF VISITORS: HOW THE LARGEST INDUSTRY EXHIBITIONS - MINING AND METALS CENTRAL ASIA 2022 AND KAZCOMAK 2022 WERE HELD
In 2022, full of trials for the economy, live meetings are more important than ever for MMC representatives. Dialogue helps identify industry-relevant problems and find optimal solutions, find new suppliers and partners in conditions where the usual supply chains are broken.
Opportunities for this are provided by industry exhibitions, such as, for example, Mining and Metals Central Asia 2022 and Kazcomak 2022 held on September 20-22 in Almaty.
The Atakent Exhibition Center in Almaty has become a place of meeting for key players in the mining and metallurgical complex, representatives of the state apparatus, industry experts and industry professionals. At this time, two major exhibitions - the 27th Central Asian exhibition “Mining equipment, mining and processing of ores and minerals” - Mining and Metals Central Asia 2022 and the 18th International exhibition “Road and industrial construction, municipal equipment” - Kazcomak 2022 were held at once.
The largest facts confirm the status. Thus, the total exposition of the two events is covered two pavilions and a street square, occupying a total of 9,500 square meters. The exhibitions were visited by 5,781 specialists, and the exposition was presented by 261 companies from 23 countries of the world.
The composition and geography of the participants of the exhibitions this year is more diverse than ever, and the number of the participants of the exhibitions has grown by 63% compared to 2021. Among the exhibitors were companies from Australia, Austria, Great Britain, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Canada, Cyprus, China, Norway, Russia, USA, Turkey, Ukraine, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Estonia, South Korea and South Africa. Interestingly, the national group of Germany presented 25 manufacturers of innovative technical solutions at once under the unified flag of their country.
The exhibition was opened by Tulegen Mukhanov, the First Deputy Executive Director of the Association of Mining and Metallurgical Enterprises, and Boris Danilenko, the Director of the ITECA Exhibition Company. In his welcoming speech, Tulegen Mukhanov noted that “the issues of introducing new technologies and Industry 4.0 are relevant for the mining and metallurgical complex”.
“Innovative technologies, equipment and solutions that will become an impetus for the development of the industry are just presented at the exhibition platform”, he said.
And the exhibition really meets the needs of the industry. At their stands, the participants presented developments and achievements in the production of equipment, services and design solutions for the mining and metallurgical complex. There were also IT products for mining safety, digitalization and production automation.
It was thanks to the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest developments in technologies that the exhibition was visited by delegations from the largest players in the mining and metallurgical sector. 150 specialists from ERG, KAZ Minerals, ArcelorMittal Temirtau, Polymetal Eurasia, Kazakhmys, Kumtor Gold and others came to study tours and carry out b2b meetings.
In addition to the exhibition, presentations and seminars from manufacturers and developers were held as part of the event. In total, the business program included 13 sessions, which were held on September 20 and 21.
For example, WEG Central Asia held a conference on digital solutions for the mining industry. The technological marathon “Positioning system for the MMC” from the PIT Tech Garden Autonomous Cluster Fund was also popular with visitors. This is a new format, fully aimed at finding solutions to industrial tasks for automating and improving business processes of an enterprise. The marathon was held for one of the gold mining enterprises of Kazakhstan to solve the task “Equipment with a system for positioning people and a vehicle”.
Technological solutions for the customer were provided by residents of the Smart Industry Management Platform digital platform and members of the PIT cluster - Kazakhstani IT, engineering and innovative companies that already have experience in implementing projects in the mining and metallurgical complex.
Participants of REPSAMPLE, Rit Automation, Drillgeorobotics, SEEQUENT, the Ural Plant of Deicing Materials and the Science Foundation also held their seminars and conferences on topical issues of the industry.
The high demand for such events from business and the state makes their holding very relevant, which is why the number of participants is steadily growing year after year. Thanks to this, the Mining and Metals Central Asia 2022 and Kazcomak 2022 exhibitions annually become popular platforms for expanding connections within strategic sectors of the economy.
