Element’s rubber-metal linings increase mill repair interval by 15% (at least!)

Element has supplemented its product line with linings for mills using a rubber-metal design. According to the company's specialists, this combination of materials increases the life capacity of linings by 15% or more, when compared to metal analogues.

A new product from Element, rubber-metal linings for mills, withstand intense shock loads at the primary stages of grinding (MPSI, MSI).

In severe conditions, highly abrasive ore quickly wears out linings made of common manganese steel. They become deformed and unusable. If you replace the standard alloys with more wear-resistant ones, the protective parts will lose their impact strength. In this case, the mill linings split and crack under the influence of impacts.

The balance between impact strength and hardness

Mill linings made of rubber-metal soften the impact load of the crushed material. The composite material absorbs the impact from the pieces of rock. The metal is protected by a rubber base, so hard and durable cast-iron alloys of maximum hardness are protected from chips and cracks.

Element has added composite linings to its line of wear parts for mills, so that mining and processing enterprises can repair mills less often. This helps to reduce the cost of equipment maintenance. In addition, the rubber metal material allows one to replace individual elements of the lining, since there is no splintering of the working surface during operation.

The position of the profile of the lifters is securely fixed, which preserves the original trajectory of the grinding bodies and the grinding efficiency.

In addition, the rubber-metal lining weighs 30-60% less than the bare metal one. This reduces the load on the mill.

Element selects the composition of the alloy of metal inserts depending on the type of rock and specific operating conditions. So that Element’s specialists can find a suitable solution, contact the company via this form or via Element’s official dealer in Russia and the CIS — Nordfelt.

Element will take part in the exhibition "Mining & Metals Central Asia – Mining equipment, mining and processing of ore and minerals", which will be held from September 29th to October 1st, 2021 in Almaty, CBC Atakent.

At the site of 130 square meters, customers and partners will be able to see with their own eyes spare and wear parts for crushing equipment, pumps and hydrocyclones, conveyor components and wear-resistant materials. Leading specialists and top managers of the company will meet visitors at the stand # Z202, with a presentation of Element’s key products.
